Morning Prayers

Subheading:

Text:

Before being swept away by the hustle and bustle of the day, we turn our attention to God for a couple minutes, renewing our faith and trust in him, and asking him to guide us through all the day's works, endeavors, concerns, sorrows, and joys. You may find the following prayers helpful.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God my Father, Lord of heaven and earth, Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier, I adore you and love you with all my heart. I thank you for creating me, redeeming me, calling me to the Catholic faith, and watching over me last night.

I offer you on this day my prayer, my work and effort, my suffering and joy. I pray that I can do all of this out of love for you and according to your will.

Grant me perseverance in living my Christian vocation, patience in suffering, courage in proclaiming my faith, wisdom in my life journey, and charity in my dealings with others.

Free me from sin and from all evil. May your grace always remain with me and with all those who are dear to me. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail, Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee!
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

It is a good idea to take a minute of reflection at the start of the day to call to mind, in God's presence, your personal goals and commitments, and to review your agenda for the day. Put all of this in God's hands. Finish up your morning prayer by aligning your heart and mind with the ultimate goal of our existence - the glory of God:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever.
Amen.
