Is it possible to be a diocesan missionary priest to another country?

Mike asks:

Father, is it possible to be a Diocesan missionary priest to another country?

Dear Mike,

Yes, this is entirely possible. Some dioceses in the US have missionary dioceses they take care of and their priests can serve there for any amount of time. Another possibility is to apply for diocesan priesthood in a missionary diocese, do your studies either in that diocese or in your home country but as a seminarian of that diocese, and then serve there after ordination.

God bless.
