Are religious disobeying God by being celibate and not marrying?

Ohia asks:

Why is it that some people promote celibacy? Yet we are commanded by God to marry.

Dear Ohia,

If we are commanded by God to marry, how could Christ say I do all my Father commands me and yet he did not marry?

People who follow the way of celibacy for the Kingdom are trying to imitate one aspect of the life of Christ that speaks not of his lack of love but of his total love and service for our redemption.
