What I would suggest in this case is that you think over your motives for thinking you have a vocation and why you have decided to move on it now. It may help to write them down. Then also try to express why you went ahead and took the step of applying without consulting your parents (the younger you are the more important it is to think this one through well). Once you have gone over these and are sure of your position, I would let the vocation director know the whole situation and get his input. Then and only then, but without too much delay, approach your parents. Try to find a time and place where you will all be more relaxed and unrushed, and where you will have enough privacy. Pray to the Holy Spirit for enlightenment.
