It is good to start by asking yourself how come you are asking the question and many of your friends are not, even those you consider to be good people. Then it helps to ask yourself the reasons why you think you perhaps should join a convent.

The real question behind these is this, Is Christ asking you to do it? Is it what he wants you to do with your life, is this the way he wants you to love him?

Here is some homework for you: look up the necessary qualities for a vocation that are explained elsewhere on the site (health, intelligence, maturity, freedom, spiritual motive) and see if you have them. If you do, get in touch with the particular convent you are interested in, and speak to their vocation director. Be completely open, and she will be able to guide you further.
