Dear Daniel,

Your quick revelation has been a long time in the making, about 9 years to go by what you say. It is not totally unusual in a vocation for it to linger there in a vague way for some time until suddenly some circumstance or a special, direct grace from God jars it into perspective and it becomes quite sharp and clear.

Dont be afraid to follow up on it in the usual way, by checking into the concrete type of Priest (diocesan or religious) that God seems to be calling you to. The vocation director will help you take the right steps to make sure it is more than empty enthusiasm.

The idea you have of what a priest is (to fully imitate Christ the Priest) is exactly it, so continue to develop this in prayer, getting to know Christ, asking the Holy Spirit for the gift to love him, and trying to imitate him.
